CERTITEK TESTING AND CERTIFICATION LTD--Enterprise and Industry DG goes on Tour with the New Toys Safety Directive (2009/48/EC)

The Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry is participating to a Roadshow organised by the Toy Industry of Europe. The new Toy Safety Directive will be explained to all economic operators in the toys sector.

By taking part to this roadshow, the Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry aims to present, broadcast and explain the new Toys Safety Directive (2009/48/EC) to the SME's (small and medium enterprises), the importers and to all the economic operators of the toys sector.

An overview of the new requirements and detailed information on the obligations of the manufacturers, the importers and of the distributors will be provided.

Toys traders also aim at spreading the knowledge about the new Toys Safety Directive by organising a Workshop in Vienna on 18 september 2009.

The TIE (Toy Industry of Europe) roadshow starts with a kick-off meeting in Paris on 22 October 2009.

The next events are scheduled in London (17 November 2009) and in Milan (19 November 2009).

The first Toys Global Summit will be organised in conjunction with the world famous Toys Fair of Nürnberg on 9 February 2010, in which the Enterprise and Industry DG will participate.
